Personal Thoughts

September 2012

Progress Report

My young adult novel is over 40,000 words now, which translates into being almost 70% complete - for the skeleton rough draft, anyway.  I just have a few more snags to figure out for the story.
Yesterday I also worked on a short story romance, but I don't know what I'm going to do with that yet.

S.E. Sequel

As of today, Surreal Ecstasy's sequel has about 30,000 words.  That's a great start.  :)

I realized today that my sci-fi book is going to be a trilogy instead of a standalone book.  It'll take a long time to complete, but it's going to be interesting, and a fun read.  :)

No Writer's Block!

I don't believe in writer's block.  Not anymore.
Instead, I switch my focus to a different manuscript, which eases up the pressure and stress of working on the challenging one.  Works every time.
I'm currently stuck on a self-inflicted writing puzzle (see previous blog post).  My solution is to work on my sci-fi novel, which I haven't even looked at for a couple months.
It's refreshing, and I'm in no hurry to get it finished.

The Growth of my YA novel

Something seems to be missing in my YA book, which is more than halfway completed.  Something that just brings the entire plot together and makes the book what it should be.  I feel as though it's already been decided somehow, and it's just a matter of me figuring it out.
But I'm not stressing about it.  It's actually kind of fun.  I enjoy these writing puzzles that I create for myself!
My Starbucks Americano is helping me figure it out.  :)

3rd "Surreal" Book Already?

For some strange reason, today I began to write the third God Generation book.
There is no real reason for this - I was completely prepared to work on the 2nd book, of which I've only written about 28,000 words.
But I'm excited about where this storyline will take us, and I can't wait for everybody to read it.
Anyway, happy weekend, everybody.  Grab a cup of ice-blended coffee and watch a favorite movie.
Take care,

Thanks for stopping by.
My journey in writing "Surreal Ecstasy" has been a fascinating emotional ride for me.  I'll have more details in the future as things progress, but for now I must say that I am very excited for the release of my debut novel.
I began writing "Surreal Ecstasy" in late September 2011.  Many times I would cast aside my notebook in frustration (I had to write everything manually in an actual notebook before I bought my laptop) and wouldn't touch the story for weeks.
