My release date is in 4 days, and I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me during this stage in my life because, although I did some thanking in the 'acknowledgments' section of my book, there is more to say.
First of all, if you have never submitted a manuscript or a query to a publisher or agent in your life, I will try to give you the cliff notes version. It's exciting, thrilling and, yes!... fulfilling, to know that you've finished a project and are taking the next step.
But it can also be one of the most nerve-racking times of your life. You have basically lent a huge chunk of your heart and yourself for an entire company to peruse and discuss. I'd be willing to bet that I was more difficult than usual to live with during this time, because I certainly couldn't focus on much else.
It was a stroke of luck on my part that the publisher I happened to submit to, Ring of Fire Publishing, consist of the best people to work with. I've really learned a lot from them.
My friends and family really need a pat on the back, because as I said before, I was more difficult than usual to be around during this whole process, mostly because of the uncertainty of it all.
I really did put a lot of my own emotions into this book, and I hope and pray that it shows.
