I just finished reading this book and I feel like my heart is breaking into a million pieces.
First I should say that sometimes I'll read a book in 2 hours and sometimes I'll read it in a few years; great books come from both categories (It's taking me even longer to finish Harry Potter 4). It all depends on how much information is fed into my brain, because I'm quite a slow reactor. Some books I need to read slowly because I don't want to miss anything, and I'm very glad that's how I approached my experience with Steamfate.
I am so sad for things that can go wrong, how two people who love each other don't get to be together. I am going to re-read this book, because I feel there are a lot of layers of this story to be absorbed. It is clever on so many levels.
Zona is complicated yet not, a tiny bit fragile but 99% made of pure strength. I absolutely hated Isabelle and I did not like the fact that it was hard to know who to trust or who was honest.
There were so many twists I did not expect and like I said, I will have to read this book over again to get the full effect of it, because it is obvious the author labored greatly over this novel. There are a number of great quotes that I will always remember.
What an amazing accomplishment of the author. When she writes more, we can be sure it's going to make the reader feel the same romance, betrayal, and outrage that the characters do.
